Chair Recruitment

Welcome

Welcome from Jane Gaddum, Senior Independent Director and Fiona Doran, Lead Governor

Thank you for showing an interest in becoming our Chair at Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. Our Trust is recognised locally and nationally for providing innovative and pioneering services and as a leading provider of high quality, patient centred care.

We are proud of our dedicated workforce who support people to improve their mental and physical health and wellbeing so that they, and their carers and families, are able to live a better life. Our values-based approach to delivering high quality treatment, support and care focuses on the specific health and social care needs of each person.

We know we work best when we work in partnership with the people who use our services and their carers; with our staff; with the community; with our Governors; with our academic partner Keele University and with other organisations operating in the wider health and care systems in both Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent and in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin.  These partnerships are leading the drive for reducing health inequalities and for transforming care and support for our communities.  We place paramount importance on ensuring that we stay true to our values; promote a culture which respects diversity, equality and inclusion and one which empowers and values everyone.

We are now seeking to appoint a new Chair to lead our high performing Board and Council of Governors. Our new Chair will work closely with our exceptional and nationally respected Chief Executive, Neil Carr OBE. This is an exciting opportunity for an inspiring, ambitious, and creative leader to provide vision as we aim to become an ‘Outstanding’ organisation. Our new Chair will also play an important role in building productive and progressive relationships with our partners and stakeholders across the health and care landscape and seek opportunities to further increase our impact and profile on a national footprint.

We are looking for an inspiring leader who brings significant Board level experience gained in complex and dynamic multi-stakeholder environments, along with a demonstrable interest in health and social care and a visible and inclusive style. You will share our values, bring fresh thinking and experience to our Board and a genuine passion and commitment to the services we provide. We know through experience that diversity of ideas, perspectives and backgrounds create a stronger and more creative culture that delivers better outcomes for the communities we serve.

This rewarding and challenging role offers a significant opportunity to bring your skills and experience to influence the future wellbeing of our service users, staff, and our communities.
